Bizet - Carmen – ballet
A drama of a beautiful and untameable gypsy girl, who inflames the emotions of an ordinary soldier, as well as a famous toreador. A drama of passionate, fateful love. A drama of jealousy, which inevitably leads to the tragic death of the girl, who wished to preserve her freedom and independence. The romantic melodies of Georges Bizet's opera are presented in an arrangement originating from the famous opera and from the suite of the French composer. This classic and world-renowned story is full of romantic entanglements, as well as passionate and hot-blooded emotion. The Prague Theatre Ballet performs, directed by Jiří Pokorný. The production is enhanced by the film projection into the wall of water of the fountain. The choreographer and playwright of the fountain is Miloslav Janíček.

Cajkovskij - Romeo and Juliet - ballet
A ballet presentation of the famous story of the Verona lovers, whose love is frustrated by the hatred of their feuding families. This time to the music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky: with his fantasy – the symphonic prelude of Romeo and Juliet, and with the first phrase of his emotive sixth symphony, entitled “Pathetique”. The death of the lovers is accompanied by music originally linked to the end of another, no less absorbing tale of love: the death of Isolde from Richard Wagner's opera. And the story of the feuding Montagues and Capulets is played out once again before audiences of Křižík's fountain, presenting the sorrowful and at the same time unsurpassable tale of Romeo and Juliet, the descendents of powerful families. We can thus once again enjoy the most famous story of love and tragedy in an unforgettable production for Křižík's fountain. The choreographer and playwright of the fountain is Miroslav Janícek, with performance by the Prague Theatre Ballet directed by Jiří Pokorný.

Cajkovskij - Swan Lake - ballet
The evil wizard Rothbart casts a spell on the beautiful Odette, turning her into a swan – and only true love can break the spell. Hope arrives in the form of prince Siegfried, who swears never to betray her – the next day however he chooses the fiery Odile as his bride. At the end though it is the evil wizard who is defeated, when Siegfried gives his life for Odette so that they can be together eternally at least in death and save other girls who have been turned into swans. This tale of the great power of love was given musical accompaniment in the romantic melodies of P.I. Tchaikovsky: on a moonlit night an enchanted prince dances with the beautiful Odette, at the ball a Spanish dance, a tarantella, a csardas and a mazurka can be heard. The magnificent scenes are alternated by tender dances of love and sorrow. Probably the most romantic of Tchaikovsky's works, which is ever popular not only amongst visitors to Křižík's fountain, this has been brought into this unique environment by the choreographer and playwright Miloslav Janíček, and is performed by the Prague Theatre Ballet, directed by Jiří Pokorný. The production is enhanced by the film projection into the wall of water of the fountain.

Cajkovskij - The Nutcracker - ballet
One of the most beautiful ballet stories – the Nutcracker. The fairytale beings of the Prince and the Mouse King, as well as Clara, a good-hearted and courageous girl, are brought to life in the superb music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The ballet was based upon the story by E.T.A. Hoffman. In a small town guests meet over the Christmas holidays. The children eagerly await the moment when they shall finally see the Christmas tree with their gifts. The anticipated moment arrives and the view of a decorated tree opens up before everyone. Under the tree little Clara finds a present from her godfather – a toy nutcracker, which easily cracks open nuts. In the disguise of a conjurer the mysterious godfather of Clara and Fritz arrives, and the children are enchanted by his ability to bring their toys to life and create entertainment for them... and this classic performance certainly provides entertainment. The choreographer and playwright of the fountain is Miloslav Janíček, and the ballet is performed by the Prague Theatre Ballet, directed by Jiří Pokorný. The production is enhanced by the film projection into the wall of water of the fountain.

Notre Dame de Paris
An original Czech musical on motives of the Victor Hugo novel about disfigured bell ringer with a beautiful, clean soul, about courage to stand against cruelty and oppression, about real values in human life. The Krizik’s Fountain comes back to life in perverse nobility merrymaking and whirls of wretches and thieves wandering through the streets of Paris. The fates of the bell ringer Quasimodo, judge Froll and captain Phoebe, who all love beautiful and temperamental gypsy Esmeralda, are intertwined here.

The best of the dance musical fountains 2000-2015
The Musical Mystery on the Fountain With this special anniversary performance, Orfeus wants to celebrate and remember all the musical pieces which have been showcased here over the years. Over the twenty years this European first uniting water, light, video projection and live ballet performances at Křižik’s Fountain has been going, it has achieved a completely new dimension. Over this period, Orfeus has showcased many original ballet musicals, some of which have become coveted and popular hits soon after their performances, and many of which the Fountain’s programme of shows could hardly be imagined without. Top of the list is the fairytale performance for all generations, The Little Mermaid, which was originally premiered in 2000. The turn of the millennium brought this beautiful and well-known tale from the collection of H C Anderson and tells the story of the unrequited love of a tender and innocent mermaid for a prince. A year after this now legendary musical performance came about, another original performance had its premier – Notre Dame de Paris. This tells the no less famous story of the fate of the courageous bell-ringer, Quasimodo, whose only soulmate is gypsy dancer, Esmeralda. The story which reveals the truth of who is truly human and beautiful and who is truly monstrous and nasty, has gained popularity amongst all generations of audience of the years. Another ballet musical project for the Fountain was the legend of the death of a civilisation, the death of the mythical kingdom of Atlantis. In 2010, the story of Tristan and Isolde was showcased for the first time, telling a timeless story of true love which has to overcome all the obstacles in its way to be fulfilled. The Little Mermaid

From sea waves comes a tender, loving little mermaid to conquer a human heart - the heart of a beautiful prince. He forgets about the whole world because of her - including his little mermaid, whose fate is thus sealed. She refuses to destroy her lover, meekly sacrifices herself for his fortune and vanishes in sea foam.

Tristan and Isolde
Many believe that this story actually took place…. This romantic story tells the tale of Tristan and Isolde, whose love has survived through the ages in legends. According to the ancient Celtic legend the young warrior Tristan is immeasurably devoted to his uncle Marke. He obtains the beautiful Isolde for his uncle, but then his heart is broken because of her. The betrayal of Melot, Tristan's best friend, reveals their love... This tragic epos of immortal love, betrayal, hatred, sorrow and death is elaborated and filmed on the theme of a medieval Breton poem and music by Miloslav Janíček, with the texts of the songs and dialogues written by Ivan Hladík. The Prague Theatre Ballet performs to the original musical recording. The production is enhanced by the film projection into the wall of water of the fountain.

Albano Carrisi (Concerto classico)
The popular Italian tenor has sung popular opera arias of Italian composers (Verdi, Puccini, Donizetti) and lent his voice also to the melodies of symphonic works (Tchaikovsky's concert in B minor etc.). Albano Carrisi originates from the southern Italian town of Celino San Marco, where he lives to this day. His mother named him Albano because at the time of his birth his father was fighting in the Italian army in Albania. His incredible voice in the environment of Křižík's fountain not only plays the jets of Křižík's fountain like strings, but also stirs up emotions in the hearts of audiences. Summer evenings in Prague in connection with this presentation shall rank amongst those experiences which are never forgotten.

Andrea Bocelli – Romanza
A profile of the blind Italian tenor, who devotes himself to opera singing but also enjoys performing pop music. Evidence of this is his album of ballads, containing hits such as Caruso, Miserere and the duet Time To Say Goodbye with Sarah Brightman. For a long time Andrea Bocelli was unable to make a name for himself as a singer and was rejected by record labels. He made his living as a bar pianist and singer. His break came in 1992, when the rock star Zucchero offered him the chance to record a demo singing “Miserere” in a duet with him. The recording impressed Luciano Pavarotti himself, who expressed his admiration of the Bocelli's singing. He couldn't believe that this was only a bar singer and pianist playing locally. Now audiences again have the opportunity to be enchanted by his voice, and perhaps also dream a little whilst enjoying the performance at Křižík's fountain.

Antonín Dvořák – Slavonic Dances
Slavonic Dances stood at the beginning of Dvořák's international fame – and to this day the fiery symphonic stylisation of songs and dance of various Slavic nations ranks amongst the popular works of one of the greatest Czech composers. Antonín Dvořák was one of the most distinguished musical composers of all time and internationally the most celebrated and performed Czech composer. His symphonic opuses rank amongst the international classics and are a standard component of all the prestigious productions of symphonic music. To this day the strength of his melodic invention captivates experts and laymen, and astonished his musical contemporaries (Brahms's statement: “Dvořák's themes for his secondary ideas would quite suffice for my main ideas…”). In the past audiences have been able to admire Dvořák's Rusalka at Křižík's fountain. The performance is enhanced by the film projection into the wall of water of the fountain.

Antonín Dvořák – Symphony no. 9: From the New World
Dvořák's final, ninth symphony ranks amongst the most distinguished jewels of musical history. For over a century it has been heard on concert podiums throughout the world, performed by the most accomplished orchestras, and in terms of the number of recordings occupies one of the leading positions worldwide. The symphony was symbolically played also on the occasion of the first man on the moon. It was first performed in Carnegie Hall in New York, where Dvořák worked as the director of the National Conservatory from 1892-1895. This is the first work which he composed in America, and which reflects the discovery of a new world (as well as pining for his homeland). It was indisputably inspired by black American folklore (although in the trio of scherzos rural Czech music and the cooing of doves can also be heard). The symphony can be considered to be a thematic work: an accommodation with the enticing voice of America.

Antonio Vivaldi – The Four Seasons
This cycle of concerts for violin and orchestra is the most celebrated work of the Italian baroque composer. The master's violin sings out the tune of summer at the fountain. The Four Seasons, the 1st to 4th violin concert of Antonio Vivaldi probably originate from 1725. It is divided into four parts, the sonnets spring, summer, autumn and winter. In this Vivaldi describes the course of the whole year. Each season is composed of a number of phrases: spring (birds, creeks, pastoral idyll, rural dance), summer (Zephyr, Boreas, calm, mosquitoes, storm, tempest), autumn (dance, harvest, drunken sleep, hunt, flight), winter (cold, wind, rain, fireplace, on ice). This synonym for Vivaldi's work gains an entirely new character and nuance in connection with the dance of water and lights of Křižík's fountain.

Bedřich Smetana - My Country
This cycle of six symphonic poems is one of the great patriotic manifestos, combining the idea of homeland, nation and glory. The programmatic composition is based on Czech myths and celebrates the Czech history, landscape and people – and foresees a glorious future of the Czech nation. At Křižík's fountain you can take in 3 selected poems – Vyšehrad, the mythical seat of the Czech princes and kings, is presented in its former glory and heyday, as well as in its decline in an age of wars and disputes. Vltava: two rivulets joining together into a river flowing through the Czech landscape, passing by a forest hunting ground, a wedding ceremony and a night-time dance of water nymphs; beyond the midsummer currents it flows beneath Vyšehrad and is disappears into the distance. From Czech plains and groves: a depiction of the charming Czech landscape – meadows, forests, singing birds, celebrations brought to life in the rhythm of a polka.

C'est la vie This first new show from the 2014 season will have you shaking your sides and you’ll find yourself more than once tapping out the beating rhythms of the selected pieces which are part of the ‘C’est la vie’ performance. He is a triple Grammy Award winner, and according to Forbes magazine, the richest hip-hop artist. Not to be missed out from this kind of programme is a singer who has long been known as the ‘Princess of Pop’, and who has managed to put her scandals firmly behind her and return to the centre stage. Britney Spears, full name Britney Jean Spears, is an American pop singer, Grammy and MTV Video Music Awards winner, song-writer and actress. Shortly after it was released, he released ‘Rain Over Me’, which you will also hear and in which Pitbull works with Marc Anthony. This single spent a long time on the top of record chards worldwide. And we can’t leave out his other megahit, ‘On The Floor’, recorded with the beautiful and talented Jennifer Lopez, known for her popular concert tours.

Dracula Untold (by Ramin Djawadi)
Before he became Dracula, he was Vlad III, the ruler of a small country called Transylvania which cowered in the shade of the powerful Ottoman Empire. He well knew that any resistance to his powerful neighbour would mean his end. But when the Sultan ‘asks’ him to send a thousand boys including his own son as fresh recruits for the army, he decides to disobey. In order to defeat evil and avert the inevitable, he joins up with a much greater evil. He becomes Dracula. An indestructible demon who can defeat a massive army, and yet who also loses all those his desperate act has protected. Those close to him… A completely new perspective on the world-famous story of Dracula was brought to the silver screen by director, Gary Shore, with charismatic Luke Evans in the title role. Together, they tell of love overcoming personal sacrifice, of fate which wins out even over time. To help their story, master move scorer, Ramin Djawadi of Duisburg, Germany was recruited. He studied at Berklee College of Music , graduating in 1988 with a ‘summa cum laude’ honorary diploma (the highest of three levels used by certain American schools). His talent was noticed by composer, Hans Zimmer, who brought him to the Remote Control Productions studio in Los Angeles. Djawadi wrote a number of scores from the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie, but he subsequently made music totally independently for hits such as Iron Man and Clash of the Titans, and in particular for a number of cult television serials, of which we should at least mention Prison Break (nominated for an Emmy Award), Breakout Kings and especially Game of Thrones. And now, Ramin Djawadi’s music is to be heard in the totally unique environment that is Křižík’s Fountain, where accompanied by water and light effects it will awaken the immortal story of brave Dracula – a count who sold his body and soul for love.

F. Mercury & M. Caballé – Barcelona
Songs from an album combining two musical worlds: rock and opera. The first singer from the group Queen sang an anthem for the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992, together with a Spanish opera diva; on the album we also find the songs La Japonaise, Ensueno, Golden boy etc. In its time the stark voice of the eccentric hothead Freddie Mercury in connection with the classical singing of the opera singer Montserrat Caballé provided an unforgettable performance. For several seasons this experience has been supported by a unique presentation at Křižík's fountain. The voice of Montserrat Caballé is unforgettable for its purity, precision and power, Freddy Mercury for his range, popularity and stormy life. In connection with Křižík's fountain audiences gain an entirely new experience in the company of these stars.

Fifty Shades... in music
The film version of this worldwide literary bestseller has been filling cinemas to bursting. But Fifty shades… success is also due to the best interpreters and composers who have breathed life into the film’s music. The first film’s story of passion, attraction and secrets involved chart-topping songs by Annie Lennox, The Weeknd, Sia, Beyoncé, and in particular Ellie Goulding. Anastasia and Christian Grey’s sensual struggles continue in the new sequel in which our heroes stop playing using Grey’s rules, and it also involves loads of new hits. Singers behind the microphone include John Legend, Nick Jonas and Nicky Minaj and once again the popular Sia. And as in Part One, the instrumental music was scored by one of the best film score composers, Danny Elfman. Let the passion flow through your whole body this year in this performance of excitement and entertainment.

Brad Fiedel, Trevor Rabin, Gabriel Yared, as well as Howard Shore, James Horner and others – these are the names of composers who musically bring to life dramatic, tender and moving moments from film hits. Experience your favourite films in an alternative style, with your heart and your eyes, before which Křižík's fountain plays out a whirl of emotions. However although Maximus escapes death by the skin of his teeth, he is heavily wounded and “saved” by slave traders. The path which leads to the fulfilment of Maximus's revenge is to become the greatest hero of the entire empire. This absorbing story, accompanied by dramatic music gains a new dimension thanks to its linkage with the water element and projection onto the water wall. Hans Zimmer, Lisa Gerrard and Klaus Badelt joined forces in creating the music for this film, whilst Enya lent her voice.

Pop Diamonds (Rihanna , One Direction, Pink...)
The real diamonds of pop will grace the rich repertoire of Krizik's fountain with another performance for younger spectators. This is the first of the two new rhythmical new performances, a composed production containing idols of today's teenagers such as "One Direction", the British-Irish boy-band made of Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. The appearance of songs by Rihanna and Pink are, of course, also enticing. Rihanna is a star of R&B, reggae, dancehall and dance, and holds five Grammys. In total she is the author of eleven "number-one" hits and, at her age of 23, has become the youngest artist to do so. Pink is an American pop and R&B singer. She is the author of five studio albums and holds three Grammys.

Queen – Goodbye, Freddie
Immortal ballads – the best compositions of Freddy Mercury, the first pop Star of Indian origin, and his group Queen, which maintained its position at the top for two decades. Mercury died in November 1991. Queen was a legendary British pop-rock group formed in London in 1970. The original line-up of the group was guitarist Brian May, singer Freddie Mercury and drummer Roger Taylor, who were joined a year later by bassist John Deacon. On 19 February 1971 they first appeared together with other musicians under the name “Queen”. The group did not break up even after the death of Freddy Mercury in 1991 or after the departure of John Deacon. With new singer Paul Rodgers (starting in 2005) they have been appearing under the name Queen + Paul Rodgers. We recall the greatest hits of this group in an innovative connection with Křižík's fountain.

Scheherezade, Polovtsian dances, Kartinky
Rimsky-Korsakov was inspired by the tales of One Thousand and One Nights to create a loosely conceived narrative of Sinbad, the Young Prince Kalendar and the Young Princess. The stirring Polovtsian dances are a part of Borodin's opera Prince Igor. This trio of compositions with an oriental flavour is complemented by Mussorgsky's cycle, inspired by the exhibition of paintings in a single gallery. From a fairytale full of stories and the allure of a woman to an unusual tour of a gallery you are accompanied with the beautiful and passionate music of this composer. Rimsky-Korsakov was a member of the group of artists known as “The Five” or also the “Mighty Handful”. His works are frequently inspired by themes from the sphere of poetic folk art (particularly fairytales). And the magic of Křižík's fountain offers a fairytale setting.

Scorpions & Metallica with symphony orchestra
Rock stars whose powerful compositions and sensitive ballads are timeless, this time with a symphony orchestra. Scorpions are a German heavy metal/hard rock group from Hannover. Their most popular compositions here gain a symphonic nuance and an absolutely new form, which you can enjoy in an unusual connection with Křižík's fountain. The presentation is enhanced by the film projection into the wall of water of the fountain.

The same love for dance also accompanies the fate of Alex Owens in the story of the successful musical 'Flashdance' or the 16-year old Frances, a girl from a “good family”, who at the time dances with Johnny in Dirty Dancing. These popular dance films, which today rank amongst the best of this genre to have appeared on the silver screen, are now brought to audiences at Křižík's fountain. The London Symphony Orchestra was established in 1904 and became the first independent orchestra to have musicians who were also shareholders, and who themselves elected the administrative board. The first head conductor was Hans Richter, who conducted the inauguration concert in the Queen's Hall in 1904. Before the shipwreck of the Titanic, on which the orchestra was intended to travel, the musicians were saved at the last moment by a change to their journey plan. Now the orchestra sails to perform before audiences at Křižík's fountain, where you can experience an innovative evening with the orchestra. He came to attention in 1999 when he sang ‘God Bless the Queen’ at the final of the Rugby League Challenge Cup at Wembley Stadium. His debut album, entitled ‘The Voice’, came out in May 2001 and was followed by another four. Although he is often criticised for not having a professional technique, he has described himself as a ‘folk artist’ and has gained a growing number of fans. This is followed by a trio of enchanting artists, members of the crossover vocal trio, Three Graces. Singers Sara Gettelfinger, Joy Kabanuck and Kelly Levesque were discovered as a trio in 2006 when they had already had some success, but they have achieved true triumph in recent years.
